School Closure

Dear Parents

After discussions with the Chair of Governors, we have decided to move School Development Days and an additional holiday to this week. By doing so the school will remain closed to pupils until Monday 23rd March, 2020.

I know for some of you this will be a relief and for others, a major inconvenience. Let me assure you this decision was not taken lightly but the health and safety of pupils, parents and staff is of paramount importance to everyone associated with St. Patrick’s Primary School.

During these days off, staff will prepare for the anticipated closure of all schools, to ensure that remote learning can take place.  Office staff will be on hand to take phone calls from tomorrow but please appreciate that we can only update parents about generic information as and when it is available.

It is anticipated that we will open to pupils on Monday 23rd March, provided that the Government advice and protocols remain the same.  Parents should note that bar moving School Development Days schools cannot close in the absence of ministerial instruction so please take this into consideration when posting messages on social media.

I will post an additional letter on our website and Facebook page later this evening or early tomorrow morning.  This letter will provide you with details of the protocols that we will be implementing from a Monday 23rd March.
